These little lovelies are Magic Yarn Balls, destined for some knitting friends. Evidently the idea for these came from a kids book, The Children's Year, but they are loads of fun for adults. Here's what you do: find some pretty yarn and other small treats, and, starting with one goody in the middle, you wrap the yarn into a new ball, hiding treats as you make the ball bigger and bigger. I think this will become a stocking tradition for our family, starting this year with the little guy! And, they make a pretty nice holiday decoration too, I think.

What a fun idea! Those are great.

It's taken me ages to catch up with you but fun to read back and see what you've been doing - and as usual there's so much to read. I love the photos of your beautiful little boy, what a gorgeous child he is. And I also love this idea of wrapping little gifts in the balls of wool - I'll be doing that for my little grand daughters. Have a wonderful Christmas, obviously a cold one, while we are only just coping with the heat!
