My house looks like a kid-built fortress of moving boxes! If Baby were a little older, he'd be having a good ole' time. As it is, he's stuck watching his crazed mother throw things into boxes, and bemoan her penchant for acquiring pretty things!
In the midst of the madness though, I've been relaxing in the evenings with some watercolor painting. All my other art and craft goodies are packed, but I saved my watercolors and colored pencils for moments of quiet. I've been playing with granny square motifs, and have some fun ideas for new artwork. The painting above was my first go, and I've since refined my squares so they look a little more mathematical and precise. And, I'm waiting on a box with tiny thread to add some 3-D embellishments to my little painted blankies! I've always loved the bright clashing colors of granny square blankets, but in my new paintings the colors are more subdued and gentle: kind of like granny squares grown up:) More soon...
I love that idea, painted granny squares- cant wait to see the other paintings:)
