A finished Big Stitches Quilt, just in time for a trip to the northwoods of Wisconsin! The batting is a thrifted wool blanket, so it will keep us extra warm on those still-chilly spring nights.
Yes, we are going to make our way to my parent's cabin, in the car, for 13 hours, with two babies. We are crazy. DH expects them to do worse than we think, and I expect them to do better. Hopefully he's the one who's surprised, and pleasantly.
So all you more veteran parents, any handy tips and tricks for keeping the progeny content on long car trips?
Your blanket is beautiful.
Tips....Kiddie sing-a-long music (sure to drive you mad but keep them sane!!)
Plenty of snacks!
Lots of breaks to let them out of the car!

We were just in the woods of Wisconsin last week as the first week in our vacation. Love the quilt, it's beautiful. When Hubby and I only had the boys, we drove through the night. Worked like a charm, as the boys slept. Neither one of us can stay up all night anymore though, so we listen to audiobooks, music, have lots of non-messy snacks and plenty of breaks, preferably at rest stops where the kids can run around. Have lots of fun.

Good tips, Jennifer. We are planning to drive partially through the night, in hopes the babies will continue their night sleep!

For us, unfortunately, the breaks made things worse! They want to STAY out and not get BACK in. You'll have to find out, though! I always brought a lot of books and I sat in the back seat. We had tickle fights, sang lots of songs with motions, looked for stuff out the window, etc. I think I usually get as bored as they do and start acting like a kid myself...Good luck! Hope you guys have a relaxing time. :)
