Yarn Along

On the needles: a Tweed Baby Blanket, for my almost one-year old girl....

In the library:  First Things magazine.  I'm trying to make myself do more critical-thinking type/current-affairs reading.  It will be worth the effort, though I feel that childrearing has killed some braincells here!

I really love that blanket. I am looking for a blanket pattern for my new fall baby. I clicked on your link and the download patterns button was not working...I really want to buy that pattern. That looks so cute!!

Oh child rearing has definitely killed braincells over here as well. I usually read two books at a time, and one of them is not child-related, to combat the braincells dying...

A respite It's amazing what a few hours of solitude and quiet can do! Yesterday was the most peaceful, nourishing day I've had in many a week. Some time spent alone in my kitchen, with some tea, slow sewing, and slow cooking was just what I needed (read: thank goodness the children are still young enough to nap!). Sewing Bee - Another One Here again with my sewing essentials....some pretty Anna Maria Horner voile this time, water, and an empty bag of peanut M&M's.... I'm a little late to the cotton voile party, and boy is it gorgeous. Beautiful to work with, fantastic drape, and it will be so cool when the hot weather comes. I was trying to illustrate in the above picture how perfectly it gathers too, without any interference. I just set my stitch length to the longest setting, basted, and voila: perfect gathers. This was the same maternity top I made last time, from the Japanese craft book Lovely...
